What Kind of Polypterus ....

Hi.


I'd like to know what kind of Polypterus is swimming in my tank

I bought 3 Polypterus Senegalus and 1 Polypterus Ornatipinnis
but i dont think that they are Senegalus.

I agree..the lap's head usually slightly wider than the over body width. Senegalus's head usually a bit more rounder

100% sure that is NOT a senegal, 99% sure it's a lap. And I'm only docking the one percent because I've been wrong before lol

yup P. bichir lapradei, a Nigerian kind to be exact.

and yeah the tank is fine. they're slow growers, and most get stuck at the 14"-15" size (that is if you grow one out in captivity).
