who the freak told you it was a freshwater ray? next time you see them.....pimp slap!

it was a bull ray

and calm down,

a sting from a ray wont kill you, you will most likely get it in the foot, you will just be in aggony for a while.

the only way you could die if if you had an allergic reaction to the venom, or you get an infection from the wound if it is not treated.

and Steves case, which is extremely rare.
 
I did hear that he pulled the barb out, which caused a great degree of damage. Not sure of the validity of that though.
 
I also read it was a bull ray. Virtually impossible to be a FW ray since the attack occurred at Batt Reef, many ocean miles from Port Douglas in far North Queensland.

Now that's a dummy! I've been on "stingray city" excursions like that where the "experts" do stupid things like that. Accident waiting to happen, I'd say.
