I found this picture on a website (piranha-info.com, has some pretty good information there) and it was listed as S. rhombeus "High-back Peru", about 10". I like how it has yellow/gold color belly.
Does any rhom expert out there that knows if certain type of rhom has similar coloration even when it reaches adulthood?

Nice looking is that yours ? If yes we can
Identify it ? If no we can also identify it .

Wish it was mine, I found that on piranha-info.com

Trying to decide to go for a mix shoal of pygos or a rhom, well that mainly depends on what size tank I'm allowed to have in the living room...that's what you get for getting married to a woman that's not into this hobby.
If I can end up with a 180g then mix shoal for sure, the hard part comes if I can only have a 90g then I have to decide to go with 5 pygos (rbps and caribes)or a solo rhom. just wish rhoms have a bit more color in them then it'll make things little easier for me.

i would go for solo rhom. very impressive single specimen

will 90g big enough for life? I believe the standard 90g is 48"x18"x24".
I can try to get a 90 gallon long tank or even 100 gallon but worse case will be a standard 90g.

If I do get a rhom, I will most likely purchase a small one (few inches) and grow it out myself. I know it will be difficult to get it over 10~12" if I start with a small one, but that's ok for me.
To me, the personality of the fish is more important than its size. just wish it has more color..maybe I can go with a blue-diamond..saw a pic of blue-diamond here on MKF, it looks nice ;)

i think a 90 gallon would be plenty of room for a rhom if you're gonna grow it out from a smaller size, if you got it up to 10 or 12 inches, we would be a happy fish in that tank

It looks to me like a gold diamond rhom. I would personally try to get a gold diamond rhom or a black diamond rhom. If not those then my next choice would be a xingu.
