What kind of sand can I use

I use Quickcrete brand pfs. Rinses really quickly and my plecos and cichlids constantly dig in it.

Same here. I have multiple tanks set up with it and it's probably the best stuff on the market if you don't have rays. My discus and plecos really stand out against it. Forewarned, it needs to be vacuumed daily if your circulation isn't perfect.

It is easy to vacuum because detritus stays on its surface, as opposed to working its way in.
It is also heavy enough that it doesn't easily get sucked into filters, and ruin impellers like play sand does.
I like having Malay snails with it, as they will bury through it keeping it aerated.

I'll add that buying the Eheim vacuum was one of the best fish purchases I ever made.

Ive used both play and pfs and i easily agree that pfs is better. The poop an dirt stays on the top, its lighter colored, clears up fast, and looks more natural.
