I don't have pics sorry, I live in Minnesota and I got some snails from my local lake, actually on accident, I must have accidentrly transfered some snail eggs into a tank, anyway so I've had these little snails crawling around and they have grown a bit, they have brown shells and their bodys look a bit lighter and almost see through, anybody know what they are?

By the way I like them and I'm raising them, I'm hoping they multiply

Hello; Do a search on snails. Also some fish sites have articles and pictures of snails, go to the home page and look around. I like snails as well and find them to be a positive for a tank. You may have some common pond snails, but there are likely a lot of varities out there.. Keep an eye out for parasites that may be with wild snails, maybe keep them in only one tank for a while to see what happens.

Probably the common pond snail. It doesn't get very big and lays lots off eggs. The common one here in iowa gets a white line when it matures. You will have no problems with them multiplying. Here in iowa this is also another wild species called the trap door snail that gets to be about 2 inches longs and have live births.

Cool enjoy! I have 3 kinda os snails all local to iowa, the coomon pond snail, some kind of ramshorn snail and big trap door snails. It takes quite a while for the eggs on the common snail to hatch but you can see them grow in the egg sack.

O they will reproduce. If you ever have a shortage, come on over and take all you want from my 500g, I won't even charge you:). They are most likely pond snails. Recently I treated my tank with 2x the copper sulfate I was supposed to... Those things will be th only things still alive after nuclear war.

^ And maybe cockroaches...
