I bought my 3 snakehead fish 1 month ago, and the man who sold them to me said they were blue snakeheadfish aka. Channa Bleheri.

But now I'm not so certain anymore, since the pictures and things I find about them, looks nothing like mine.

So I hoped some of you prof. could tell me what kind of snakeheadfish I got?

First some pictures:
Here, here, here, here, here and here

Second: They all have a yellow ring on the tail fin, the largest is 15 cm, smallest around 10 cm. They get enough food, and the wather temperature is 22 degrees.

Hope you can help me Out

Hmm I was afraid it was not bleheri :(

Channa marulioides is 60+ cm rights? that's a bit more than I expected :S Gotta buy a new tank :P

Hi,

yes looks like marulioides.
By the way, bleheri are not THAT blue, to earn the trading name blue snakehead.

This is true normally, but here in japan at my LFS they had 3 Bleheri tanks.
"Rainbow snakeheads" , "New Rainbow Snakeheads" and "Rainbow Blue Snakeheads".

The Rainbow snakeheads were similar to the ones in the photo you posted, the "new Rainbows" were also very similar but had a more pinkish look to it and then the rainbow blue were very blue darker and much brighter colors.

I got 3 of the "rainbow blue" I imagined the color may be due to bad conditions, but they have been in a 55gallon (very well established and planted) for a good few months and the colors have got even stranger.

here is a pic of one:

Hmm I think I will return them to the one who sold em. I got room for Bleheri's but not marulioides, sadly :(

Thx for the help
