What kind of stuff should I feed my Bichir?

I've got a Senegal Bichir named Cthulu living in a 55 gallon tank with a Plecostumus and a baby Oscar.

What kind of stuff should I feed it to help it grow faster? I feed it shrimp pellets daily, but for the 5 months I've had him he's still the size of my pinky.

Could raw beef help?

You need to make sure that your poly has ample access to food in the tank. They are sometimes slow with feeding, and an oscar is not the best choice of a tankmate, especially when it comes to food availabilty for the polypterus.
Beefheart is a good growth food, and frozen fish, shirmp, krill are always appreciated.
