It's a green sunfish. 100% positive.

hmmmm my brother has a sunfish that we tought was a green sunfish
but the colours mouth and shape is different

can that be because mine are young?
or is it a male/female thing?
il have him post some pics 2 maybe his fish aint a green then?

btw can you see the sex of these fishes?
the 1st 2 pics are of the same fish and the second 2 are of the other one
they told me they gave me a couple but it doesnt seems like it
they both have a diferent corner in the tank as territory
and fight eachoter when they cross the line of the other fish his territory

I agree those are green sunfish

off the top of my head I am not sure how big they get, but I am sure it would be easy to google it.

I agree it is a green sunfish. Record-size greens can be over 30 cm long, but 15-25 cm is more typical adult size.

The easiest way to tell sex is when the males start building nests. You can sex green sunfish, but not by the way they look.

May or may not be a green. There is some variance. You'll have to post pics.

No. The males and females look similar. And yours are already old enough that they're presenting adult characteristics.

Sunfish do not "pair up" so to speak. The male builds a nest and encourages the female to join him. The female lays eggs and then he fertilizes them and chases her off. The male will then guard the nest by himself.

When not in spawning conditions there is no reason a male and female green sunfish would hang out together. They'd both have their own territories. So the behavior you describe doesn't mean you have 2 males (even if that may very well be the case).
