what kind of syno am i?

my boy who is a manager got in two syno ocellifer plus these two golden cats. he gave me all four for the price of two because two got beat up by mbuna in a 20 tall.

Could be a synodontis nigrita yellow or gold. A man made color species.

Seriously doubt your fish are synodontis rufigiensis. Rarely imported.

oh. lol well help me out. i never seen these synos in any store. even if they are hybrids thats fine. i am sure some of my mbuna are. i just want to know more about them

I hope Joe can help. I'd not trust my ID much - perhaps look at frontosa (but then should have some small spots, at least faint), caudovittata, and budgetti. Never mind so much the main color - look for the spotting if any and most importantly for the body and fin shape and proportions.

If have to know more certianly, I suggest Planet Catfish - plenty of high level syno-buffs there.
