I wanna buy a few Texas cichlids to go with my sagittae, bichirs, and clown loaches and they're new setup that I'm preparing... Thing is idk if I should go with some of the red texas that cjbarth is selling, or I should get a combo of turquoise and Escondido from jeff rapps TUIC... I've read a lot of good things on here and seen some grow outs of the red Texas, and even thi none have faded yet some of them are gorgeous,,and then there's rapps who obviously has top quality fish... Also I live in nj so I can pick up from rapps and won't have to risk shipping... Let me know what you guys think I'm planning on having this new set up and fish for many years to come so I wanna do it right

And please go ahead and post any type of Herichthys and give some info and photos!!

You can get the Escondidos from Jeff Rapps and a Vontihillo from Ira. Ira is in the Bronx so they are both within driving range. Both are amazing looking Carpinitis. Ira had some Chariel's for sale not to long ago. Im not sure if he still does or not.

Heres are pics of all except the Vontihillo but the vontihillo looks somewhat like the Escondido with the worming on the face. Do a search and you will find it.

just so you know, i have a vont from ira and an escon from rapps and while both are gorgeous fish, now that the vont is maturing he no longer tolerated the escon and i had to rehome him, and my vont is showing MUCH more color than my escondido (even back when the vont was the size of the escon it still showed more color earlier) now im sure my escon would have shown more color if it had been in a more dominant position in my tank but im just saying what my experience with the two have been, unless you get a male of one and female of the other and just use the fry as feeders then i highly doubt you will be able to house them together unless you have a massive tank
