I stopped in a local store here (Adam's Pet Safari, for anyone in the area, they have some really cool stuff there) and saw 4 of these guys in a few fish tanks. They looked really cool, I asked an employee what they were and his answer was "They're not for sale" ('course I got snippy and said "I'm well aware of the state restrictions on the sale of turtles and tortoises so I know they're not for sale, but since that's not what I asked you... care to try again?" He glared and stormed off, little @sshat.) That aside, I really thought they were neat... one kept snaking it's head around the cichlids in the tank with it!

Anyone keep whatever these are? Are they fully aquatic (they didn't have any platforms in their tanks)? Fish safe? Etc...

Just Googled that... some really cool photos came up, hah!

XD, didn't even notice that... way to go me! That's a win/fail.

I don't personally keep this kind of turtle, I've got a yellow bellied slider, shes a foot long and the most fascinating animal I've ever kept at home.

If the one in the picture is what I think it is, then they need somewhere to sit and dry off completely as well as having water to stay in. They are omnivorous as well, some people say you can keep certain fish with them but I'm not so sure, as with my own turtle anything that moves in the tank is considered food! :)
