Alright so, first of all i need to know what kind of turtle this is, and i need to know it's general accomodations, so i can temporarly take care of it until i find it's owner, or is it native? just some general information would be nice.

do you know anything about them? like what they eat, and habitat?

Lol, yeah a little.....I use to breed 3-Toes.

The thing is you're probably not aloud to keep that turtle in your state. Unfortunately for all Terrapene carolina, they are becoming rare from pet trade collecting, development/loss of habitat and from people just picking them up and deciding on keeping them. It would be best for the turtle if you would just let it go in a safe area in the direction the turtle was heading. If you want a Box Turtle, do some research first and then think about finding someone who breeds captive bred animals. By removing this female from the wild, you're taking away a valuable, healthy, breeding conditioned animal from the population.

May or may not be legal to keep. you may want to check your state's regulations. plus if it isn't legal that probably means they are endagered/threatened and you should probably take back to where you found it or somewhere more remote and release it.

other than that, I would think they are mostly veg eaters. no iceberg lettuce of course.

i fed it some cantalope it LOVED it, alright i think i know just the place, heres what ill do, ill video the release so you can see where ime taking him and we can all enjoy it ^_^, i have no intention of keeping it, it was just right there in the middle of the road running as fast as it could to escape, so i ran out to get it to i wouldnt have to watch it suffer and die, ill keep yall posted, thanx for your help

 Good job! I'm very happy that you're going to release it. The turtle will be happy too! I'm a big fan of people who save turtles from being squished. I do it ever chance I get. Just remember to let the turtle go in the direction it was going opposite of the road! Can't wait to see your video!
