What Kind of Worms Are These???

Does anyone know what kind of worms these are? Where they are coming from, and how the heck do I get rid of them for good??? They are all right on the water line and I can see that they look to be drinking the water in the tank. I can see them stick one end in the water every now and then but never get fully submerged. Here is a very up close picture of them. Please let me know what you think.

BTW, what type of stock have you got in the tank? could it be a parasite or something along those lines?

I just have some cichlids in this tank. After looking closely at the picture, it looks like there might be a little flying critter in the picture as well. Do you think it could be that thing making these worms?

They are little long but they could be those worms that seem to just appear in some tanks that are a little underfiltered.If they are those then they are harmless and some small fish even eat them.
