No problem and your jack dempsey is a central american cichlid, unlike the venustus and the cobalt blue zebra cichlid; they're african cichlids. Once your venustus and cobalt blue get older, they will most likely bully your JD. I had a cobalt blue zebra cichlid and he made my JD cowar in the upper corners of the tank and always hide. Never know though, it could just work out for you as fish are all different
When I first put the two new ones in, the JD was already in the tank for about two weeks before and he bullied them for a bit. Now they all seem to get along.for now.

Ya, that is most likely because he had already established his territory before the two new ones came in. If you have anymore problems between them, you could try rearranging your tank so the JD gets confused as to what his territory is.
