Got this guy last week while the LFS I usually go too was unpacking their weekly shipment.. he's about 4"+ Best Picture I could get. He was zipping around and settled in really quick. That was the next AM after I got him.

Yea, I'd say L191 (Dull Eyed/Broken Line) Royal also. I've never seen one that's gray and black striped though. My 2 plus every other one I've seen are olive green/black striped. You're so lucky! I'd have snatched him up from right under your nose if I'd have seen him :)

LOL Thanks guys! Yeah I've got 3 large chunks of driftwood in the tank he's in now and the PVC pipes to hide in. The tank needed a pleco for awhile so there is alot of "natural" forage for him while he settles in and I've been giveing him sinking wafers too, but I'm not sure he's eating those yet. and tried zucchini so far with no interest. But it's only the first week I've had him.

The large amount of white on his tail is what caught my eye eye at first and his size. I plan on keeping him with my O in a 75 in the long run. Do you guys think that will be big enough or should I go 125?

That's the reason I originally got my 1st Royal (L191 also)-was to go with an Oscar, they're a good match. The L191's get about 9-10" max according to PlanetCatfish. But Royals grow so dang slow. Mine was 3-3 1/2" when I got him almost 2 yrs ago, he's 6" now. By the time he was big enough that my Oscar wouldn't have him for lunch I'd given up on putting him there. I made him my Plec Tank- but there's others in there, too.
The white band on their tail means they're a juvie, they'll lose that as they get older. A 75 g would be good for a few yrs but I do think you'll want to upgrade to a bigger tank. Oscars get well over a foot after several years of good care and Royals have real wide thick heads and chunky bodies.
