Have had these for some time, don't know the exact species of either *common* pleco.

This looks like most commons I see, never seen a # mentioned though. It is 8.5".

This looks like what I see referred to as "Gibbi" sometimes but again, not sure. It is 6.5" ish.

TIA:)

The first is a common pleco, pterygoplichthys pardalis L-021. The second one is a hypostomus sp. of some sort. There are a lot of hypostomus that look very similiar so an L# could be difficult to find on that one. The way to tell the second one is'nt a gibby is its dorsal rays. Pterygoplichthys Gibbiceps will have 10 or more dorsal rays as do all fish from that family including your L-021. Most other plecos (like the hypostomus) will have 8 or less dorsal rays.

The second one is definitely Leopard Sailfin Pleco. You can recognize it by its spots and rise of its dorsal fin (sail-like) .

I have one but still juvenile. Yours looks like an adult (seems like its coloration is starting to darken)

read the info in the link you provided about how to distiguish them, it has also been mentioned in this thread.
