I am looking to set up a 55 gallon tank and like the idea of LED's for energy efficiency. The only problem is.... when they burn out, do you replace the little tiny led or the whole fixture? Might be cheaper to go t8 or t5 if the whole unit if useless if one led goes.

I don't think I will be having live plants in this tank and I need something med-low light so the fish I raise don't dislike it.

Thanks

With most LED fixtures the bulbs are not replaceable. You just buy a new fixture. IMO they are not very cost effective. I'll stick with fluorescent lighting.

Thanks eh. Where I work we sell individual led bulbs or light sockets and under cabinet lighting. I am totally on your side with them not being cost effective but more wasteful. Thanks again.
