Have a 125g long tank, with a wooden canopy. Will have live plants in my tank and am hoping to install a 48" light over it to give me the corners a little darker than the middle. To cover the tank, right now I have the option of 2 pieces of glass 36" long, or one 24" to put in the middle. I would prefer to have either no top or just the middle piece, that way I dont have to keep removing the glass for each feeding, would that work? Also, I need to find a light fixture that will

a) be bright and strong enough for my plants (most will be medium to bright plants) and

b)fit in my tank, inside my canopy, and that wont be a big hassle to move around each time I go to feed the fish. I was thinking a metal halide attached directly to the canopy lid, but after reading up on it I found that they would get much too hot for that. Any help would be much appreciated!
