hey guys i have a 16 gal that i want to set up in my girls room to show them responsibility, the guy at lfs said to let it run for a couple of weeks. well i did i put only good water to start. but it looks like if i have dirt floating around. i hope im explaining this right.. i have nothing in it yet. any ideas of what it is or how to get rid of it.. thanks!

doubt its cycling if he threw nothing organic in there. is there any gravel or decorations, do you have any flow or surface agitation?
its probably some excess skim. just small particles of dust and various other little things that like to settle on the water and if the surface is stagnant it will stay there. maybe go buy a pump to make the water surface a little more active.
it could be some residue still from the gravel. Do you have any filters running on the tank? If so, a good water polishing pad will clean it up. If not, a couple of water changes should clear it up as well.
