What major goof-ups have you seen?

JOC, what have you read that have just made you pass out? Online or etc etc.
I read in an otherwise great book about aquaria by someone who has supposedly been keeping fish for over 50 years. It says that 29g is great for an Oscar, and 55 is great for 2.
Guess the author works at WalMArt?
I also read a Goldfish book that says "Goldfish in all their varieties and colors, deserve to be displayed without the distraction of Tadpoles, Turtles, Crayfish, Frogs, or even other species of fish"


A few pages later, it instructs you on how to set up a Goldfish bowl.


It also says what to do with Goldfish fry that need to be culled, and suggests feeding them to a Lionfish or Cichlid.

I have a fish book that messed up the max size of a fish. Its some random african species...the book says it gets 24 inches long.

is it a julidichromis species? if so i remember seing that in a book too. they normaly max at 6" but hey, maybe there is some truth to it in the wild.

I've also got a book that puts all the CA cichlids (the big aggressive ones, parachromis, amphilophus, etc) in the genus herichthys. Which is funny I think.

A work-mate lent me the 1st edition Dr. Axlerod's Mini-Atlas and the awesome 70's photo's of him with open chest gold chain mustasio lamb-chopped gettup are hilarious!

Also it's from the days just about every Malawi was a Haplochromis. Still got some good pictures though.

Not really "goof-ups" but all funny nonetheless.
