I read a lot of threads and often see the term "quality food" thrown around. Like, "Its feeding well on quality flakes", or "you should only feed quality food to help it bulk up".

I'm really curious what makes a fish food "quality". Is it just the price? Are there all sorts of poor quality foods lurking out there to poison our fish(I guess I'm being a little cynical LOL)?

I buy a lot of HBH brand foods Like pellets and stuff and Hikari products for Massivore. But somethings I just buy what's available. There's only one brand of frozen bloodworms around here, so that's what I buy. I had to look it up but its San Fransisco Bay brand.

So, long story short. What is "quality food", what do you feed, and why?

Thanks in advance.

Check the ingredients. Most fish foods are made from fish meal, which is basically leftovers (heads, tails, etc). Omega One is quality fish food. It's made from whole salmon, krill, kelp, etc.
