HONORURU, HAWAII!
Aloha everyone,

Well i've tried to ponder the matter very much but have no idea what 2 fish are used to produce a thai silk FH. (referring to the one in my picture)

He is a solid blue (the gradient kind of varies)
but has no flowers or pearl-ish swirly markings.

i have recently seen some babies at LFS that looked just like mine did when it was smaller, but they have a flowerline and are a little more pearl-ish...there was no tag for the LFS babies, but it looked like they would be "Blue Dragon"...makes sense right?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
Not really a FH geek but love my/my gf's TS very much and wanna know more.

No one knows exactly how they were developed, the babies you came across may be thai silk crosses, they have been all over the market the last just over a year due to several breeders trying to cross to other FH"s and develop better thai silk's especially the kok as the first silks had little or no kok , in the mean time they obviously have a lot of babies left over and many of these crosses turn out very nice too. I have often wondered where they got that solid TS skin from too lol , i dont know much about discus but i know they have strains with the same color as well as with rams...very interesting....the closest natural fish I could see with similar to this white-blueish skin is texas cichlids (carpintis) but of course theirs consist of pearls not a solid, but their color can be the same.

Thanks mate,

I also have pondered on the texas cichlid..but not really knowing much about breeding possibilities between species just leads me to doubt my own thinking. lol..
