i have a 75 gallon with an arowana in it and i am planning on getting a small stingray right now i have an aquaclear 110 and a fluval 405 on it and i was wondering what would be the best combination of media for the tank. the 110 has the foam, chemi-pure, and bio max. the 405 has foam, carbon, ammonia remover, and bio max. i add blackwater extract whenever i do a water change i don't know if the filters will affect this.

I don't see any problem with your filtration except the carbon, since it's used to remove medications it may also affect your blackwater tonic.I use no carbon in any tank unless it's to remove meds or help clear a neglected tank

I'd have to agree with night flight. I heard the carbon should only be used to help clear water or remove any medication. A lot of people say that it is a waste of space if you don't need it and something else should be used in its place.

How big is your arowana? Depending on how big he is you might have to upgrade your tank to something a little bigger real soon. Silver arowanas grow fast and need the space to swin and turn. Of course, upgrade if you have the financial means to do so.

Good Luck
