I have a 4'x2' tank which houses my 10" peruvian motoro and my 4-5" motoro pup, both males. Yeah I know they'll need a bigger tank soon, but when I move I'll be able to finish my indoor pond project.

I'm thinking of adding some type of mid-water action to the setup, but I'm not sure what to go with. Most likely some type of predator, so food can be shared, but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for any ideas.:D

ive always liked red hooks....

I have a few datnioides species and giant gouramis in my mid level. Top level, I have some gars. Be careful that the fish you choose aren't too aggressive, or else the ray won't get its fair share of food.

arowana are good for the top level if you got a big tank(which you should with motoros)
as for mid-level i agree with the above im gonna order some tinfoil barbs with my rays..
not to derail but what kinda gars do you got with ur rays?what kinda rays and tank size thanks

Surely Giant Guaramis and Dats will get way too big for that tank.

Carl.

I'll have to move the rays to a bigger home soon, but the motoro is only about 4" right now, so I've got a little bit of time. Plenty of room will be available as soon as I move. ;)

Arrowana scare me because I've had plenty of fish jump.:irked:

I'm still having trouble thinking of fish that are attractive and interesting, but not too aggressive. :nilly:

My best choice is a silver red-tail Procholudus(max size is 13inches) it would be perfect for them to get along.

they don't jump either....(i have 2 of them.)

Be careful with tinfoil barbs.....I've had them take chunks out of the disk of my first ray. I traded the tinfoil's immediately. I'm not sure if I just had an aggressive tinfoil or if they are all like that.
