What might be wrong?

i fish are on both sides of my tank just moving up and down the glass constantly. what is wrong with them? why are they doing this?

tank might be too small or they see their reflections

the tank is def not small for them there is only 2 in there and they are only about a half an inch long each and its a 55g tank

they mgiht jsut be sparring with their reflection, my fish do it sometimes. try putting a canvas or osmethign over the sides to cover the relfection they should stop

New fish also tend to do that.
We also need to know what fish they are.

I used to notice this a lot with my Africans. Probably just chasing their reflection.

Columbian Shark Catfish is on the right track. It's normally a stress behavior for new fish and they'll quit after a few days. How long have you had them?

i have 1 columbian shark and 1 EB jack dempsey ive had them both about 4 days maybe
