What minnow is this?

I went fishing today and a guy was using these as bait, he ended up leaving and giving them to me. I think they are cold water not sure but he said he fishes with them during summer too. I spent about 5 hours acclimating them to a heated tank. They are all doing fine.

Anyone know what these are ?

These are golden shiners, Notemigonus crysoleucas

Yep they are golden shiners. Most bait stands around me sell those over emeralds anymore they seem to be more hardy.

weird.. i put them in my tank and my fish at a few and vomited them back up
