what movie surprised you ..

In an effort to expand my movie collection I turn to you for more choices.



I have most of the top movies already what movie(s) blew you away that you didnt think would be good?

example ..
A.scanner darkly surprised me.
 
saw 2 had a good ending, has anyone seen the 3rd one???? they say its "the best saw so far" but it didnt look that great. let me know!
 
recently rented ....."kiss kiss, bang bang" very entertaining movie......

Then my all time surprise in the under $10.00 sale section....Boondock Saints

Recent one I seen (horror) The death tunnel euro movie was pretty good.
 
Depends what kinda films you into?
If you dont mind watching foreign films enjoyed Y tu mama tambien, city of god, and i know tsotsi (sp) was supposed to be good.

mystic river was better than i thought it would be, but i read the book too, so that may be why i enjoyed it more.
documentary wise best ones i bought recently were The Blue Planet (but is BBC so dunno if you can buy it on region 1) and an inconvenient truth was good. Ray was good too.
V for Vendetta was better than thought it would be. Watched the prestige not long ago, and knew nothing about it but was impressed. Others are escaping me....

To be fair anything in the IMDB top 250 is worth watching/owning.

Donnie Darko is a VERY good movie as well.
