I have a 11 inch silver aro and this is what I have been feeding him, if any of this is bad idea please post:
live fish I have a breeder stock of convict cichlids, I have to feed by hand, he wont hunt them. not sure if he sees them as food.
crickets, bout once a week I get 8 - 10 large crickets, man he loves them like they are candy. Is it safe to feed him the large black crickets you can catch outside?
frozen beef heart or "Jack Watley Discus formula" with a pellet stuffed in the middle, I can't get him to accept pellets
raw cod fillets or raw shrimp, this is what I feed my Red belly P's so I keep a some aside for him.
he still eats freeze dried blood worms, this was his first food when I got him at 3.5 inches. it is kinda comical watching him eat something so small.
Here is the strangest of all, his tank mates are a couple of angel and gouramis so I feed them good old flake food which he also trys to eat to
My real concern is the live crickets and I am also considering night crawlers and meal worms can he get any type disease from them
Thank you all in advance for your input
