So, I have a 90g African Mbuna tank and a 90g SA with JD, Green Texas (I think,. I forget), Turquoise sev and a few silver dollars.

I recently broke down my 29g goldfish tank and now want to restart it, but I'm torn: I'd love to do a planted tetra tank, but don't want to hassle with the plants. So just thinking of doing a tetra tank.

OR

what else? Was thinking of doing convict tank or something else?

What ideas do you guys have?

You could always do a breeding tank for a pair of convicts.

And plants are not really all that hard to keep and make your tank look awesome, all you really need is good lighting, and some tabs to put under the gravel!

low light plants are simple enough, I have basic T-8 fixture with no special lighting and i have a lot of success with water sprite, anubias, wisteria, java ferns, and swords

NCState,
Is yours a 29g? I just went to that plant geek site and my head is spinning. I know nothing about planted tanks. But I see some that are absolutely gorgeous!

I want to turn my 55g into a planted tank. I don't know what kind fixture i have and I cant read the label on the lights but there some kind of upgraded flourescent light. I picked up a simple cutting , don't know the name, at petco and it is doing great. I'm going look into more low light plants. Albany Aquarium in Berkeley specializes in plants and non-aggressive fish but I haven't purchased anything from them yet but I've been there and not to bad,lot of plants.

If not I would breed something. I'm picking up a 20g tall today so I can breed my angels!!!!

I think I'm leaning AWAY from a planted tank. Now deciding between convict tank or Angel tank.
Could I keep a couple of convicts in a 29g? Not necessarily looking to breed them. Anything else I could keep in there with them or would they just kill anything/everything added.
I've kept angels before, but had no real knowledge about them. Now I'm REALLY equipped to keep them. :)
Actually, trying to breed angels might be kind of cool.
What do you guys think?

Go native.
