I'm new to predatory / terrirtorial fish, so I'm not 100% sure what order to start adding these guys.
I know a lot will depend on how big each individual fish will be, but it's hard to say as a lot will have to be ordered online or through my LFS..

I'm thinking it would be best to add the Barbs, Rainbows, African Butterfly, Syodontis, and Leopard Leaf fish first, then the ropes, BGK, and lastly the Plecos.
I will be doing a 30-day QT on all fish in a 55 gallon so I won't be dropped them all in at once. I would think I'd need the Rainbows and Barbs to be big enough to not be eaten by time I add the ropes/BGK
Advice?

3-4 Ropefish
1 Black Ghost Knife
6-10 Dennison Barbs
4-5 Australian Rainbowfish
2 Designer plecos
3-4 African Butterfly Fish
1 Leopard Leaf Fish
1 Long-Finned Syodontis Catfish

Based on your stock, unless you are getting full grown fish, then they can be added at anytime as long as the barbs and rainbow fish are too big to be swallowed. It doesn't matter much if they all grow up together, predatory fish will always eat other fish they perceive as being big enough to swallow.

What sized tank are we talking about?

The roselines are going to be a concern for sure as they are coming in at tiny small minnow sized 2" at my LFS and vendors I checked out lately. Maybe just plan on getting what is in season as some species listed are not available year round and the 55g QT tank is a great luxury to have. I think your all set. Just gotta find them and have fun with the stocklist with some patience the growth rate is slow for some species.

The tank is a 180g 6' tank.

Yeah that was my only concern, I figured I might have to add them first and just let them grow. Could add everything but the BKG and Ropes in the meantime to give them time to grow.
