I need the lights to stay on in my 560gal most of the time to give my heaters a break during the winter and the only algae I can seem to grow is that ugly brown algae. I know a common pleco will help with this for a little while but it seems to me that when they grow they just ignore the algae.

what pleco can I get that will help with the algae for life that is not too expensive and is big enough to not get eaten by silver aro's and cichla?

well its tough to say, id recommend several bristlenose plecs but i feel like something in a 560gal tank would be big enough to try to eat them.. which would end badly.
I say go with a common, an L001, and/or a Hypostomus punctatus, which is often labeled as common. these all get to around a foot in length (common 14" SL, L001 12" SL, H. punctatus 10" SL)
