iv got a 30" power compact fixture by Coralife (straight pin - 4) that holds a 21" bulb. what bulb is best for plants? i was told the 6700K is closest to sunlight but i dont like the way it's yellow. i prefer a blue or white light. what do you guys think?

You won't get enough growth off of the blue light. I prefer the AGA 8000K bulb. I find it makes greens and reds stand out nicely. I tried the 6700k and I agree- it is too yellow for my liking. The 10,000k was alright. The 8000K was the best IMHO.

The best is said to be the 6700k.

While anything from 6500k to 10,000k will work.

The higher the Kelvin rating you go the further you get away from a yellow spectrum.

AGA 8000K, ok im gona look for that. if i cant find it i think ill probably go with the 10,000K. anything else yall think i should know?

Coralife makes a 50/50 pc lamp that is 6700k and colormax. The colormax half makes the red and blue colors in your fish more intense.
