i recently purchase a 150 gallon yesterday, It is 72 inches long, 17 inches wide and 25 inches tall. What predatory species can go in it. And I don’t mean Oscars or cichlids, more like oddballs that are predators.

Depends on state regulations, but that could be a sweet pirhana tank. Or bichir or large catfish.

Any other ideas? I’m starting new job at lfs and they had big red bellies and baby ones when I went yesterday. But I’m looking for somthin a little less “cliche”

Well, what level of destruction are you looking for? Predatory as in big fish eating little fish, or something that more tears up food? Either way there's options

Well somthing that eats live or frozen, and doesent get too big for a 150 lol. I guess it could be smaller ones eating live fish

Eels, large loaches, bichir, I have a leopard leaf fish that eats anything he's pretty cool. Maybe a smaller species of ray. How about a basic salt setup with a lion and puffer

And never underestimate the fun of African cichlids. Beautiful fish that eat anything. I put ghost shrimp in from time to time for the big tank.

If you would be willing to upgrade to a slightly larger tank in the future I would do

3-5 red tail payara
6 tiger silver dollars
1 male hystrix ray

If not and ur in a legal state I would get a group of 10 caribe piranha.... they will thin themselves out when needed or u can sell them off as they grow to eventually get a nice school of 6ish

Eels, bichirs, knife fish, hujeta gar, leaf fish, predatory catfish, snakeheads, wolf fish, there are lots of options but not many mid or top water fish so if I were you I would go for some sort of predatory cichlid like an oscar as a mid water fish
