what predatory fish can be kept in a 55 gallon that live at least 10 years

i live in california if that helps, something legal, on the list it it says minnows and carp are illegal that is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS they have so many minnows at the LFS, over 200 probably. i was looking at a red tail pickerel and it looks pretty cool, i think a red tailed barracuda would be to big for my tank

all of those fish would need a bigger tank most get over 12'' so for a 55 you may wan't to try something like a polypterus or if you like top water fish you could try a needle fish which is mostly sold as needlenose gar but its not a ture gar so it doesn't get big they have a hard time getting over 12'' but i'm not sure how long they live

Predatory? get a few African Butterflyfish.

How bout a group of ctenotoma (SP.)theyre ambush predators.

Or maybe even a solo pirahna.

Go with some polypterus and a african knifefish

Ive heard most bichirs are wild caught, as is the case with leaf fish

Now days most species are captive bred in Asia
