IS there even a ray considered suitable in a 90 gallon? if so, what is the name and where can i learn more about them. and also what size can they reach up to?

A pup, and only temporarily.

none long term.

I've seen retics with discs wider than a standard 90g.........

Maybe a Hystrix. But I know jack about rays.

no ray can be housed for life in a 90 gal, but a pup can stay in there for a while. however, i believe that all depends on the filtration and frequency of wc's. t-cup ( reticulata) rays disc size can be up to 14 inches in diameter, and about 30 inches in length
