palatine
i have a group of saulosis and mainganos in my 75 gallon.
1)i would like to add some red cichlids but not zebras
what should i add?
2. would auratus do OK with saulosi and maingano
i love the way they look

The only redish colour fish I can think of is the Metriaclima estherae. This being an mbuna.
The only other fish with some red are either Aulonocara or a Haplochromis or two. Aulonocara tend to be somewhat fragile when mixed with mbuna in a tank.
:naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:

Instead of Auratus I would go with Melanochromis Chipokae. The differences are so subtle most don't know them apart but the chipokae seem to be a bit less aggressive. If you're wanting to add something truly red you'll probably have to go with a haplochromis though.

WHO KNOWS WHERE IN CHICAGOLAND IS A PET STORE WITH GOOD SELECTION OF CICHLIDS? IT SEEMS TO ME THAT EVERYONE JUST HAS SWORDTAILS, PLATYS AND SALTWATER FISH.

Red Empris, Stawberry Peakcock, German Red, and SP44 (lake victoria has gorgeous coloured fish)
