going to go in my 300g, check my signature to see whats housed in there! Or should I use a different style gravel? Fed up with the black and white

My solution to siphoning the sand is this, I have black sand in my tank and what I do is use a 1" hose and just hover over the sand to pick up debris. The 1" hose uses alot of vaccuum so it works well. I would go with black and brown gravel by the way. That looks good.

id go with black it will bring out the color of your fish alot more

lava rock is the bomb

I would recommend black or tan..
White gets dirty easy..

I've ran tanks with black sand and white coral substrates..

I found sand was too much of a pain to clean, I often ended up with lots of sand in my siphon bucket..

I prefer bare tank now :)

don't use sand. if your fish dont need it or if they are farm raised, **** sand. dont use anything. using substrate slightly raises the difficulty of any and every aquarium. bare to plants. otherwise dont use anything b/c it is ridiculous. substrate is stupid.
