State of chaos
So I'm in Florida right now, on the Gulf side, but quite far away from any kind of coral reef. My grandpa has a spotlight suspended from his dock to attract fish, and every night it attracts swarms of plankton. I see everything from Prawns to Shrimp to larval fish, larval Crabs, Fireworms, juvenile Jellyfish and even larval Octopus. But tonight I saw a group of small animals I couldn't identify... they were no bigger than a quarter inch each, long and very very skinny, like a strand of thread, and almost translucent. At one end of their body was what appeared to be an eye and then either a leg or a fin. They felt stiff when I picked them up, and didn't bend much.

Does anyone know what these could have been? I'll try to sketch one up and upload it later.
