So I will be getting a new monster within the next few weeks, I want some ideas. It must be catfish, and reaily available. Looking at these, most I have had before.

I'm all for the hybrid, but I what about a niger? They are somewhat common in specialty fish stores, and they get big. That's all I got for semi-common ones.

i will agree with niger - not sure how much they cost over there but they arent cheap here.

another alternative is a Giraffe Cat!!! great cats to own ime! if you can foot the bill!

I got my niger for i think $45 at shark aquarium at about 6 inches, I didn't think that was bad.

+1 on giraffe cat. They aren't too common, but my friend found one at a LFS once for $25. They are cool as well.
