What should I add this tank?

[Decoder]

I am rebuilding my 270lt small CA cichlids community tank and currently the tank looks like this:

Now I cant decide what to add as decoration and fish. I am thinking of mangrove roots, tree branches and rocks like the one in the photo. With this substrate and gravel I am guessing plants would look awkward. For fish, I have a great varity to add, but again with this substrate tetras would look awkward what do you think? I am open to any fish suggestion but I want a natural looking tank too. Plz dont hesitate to comment or advise Some sample tank photos would be good.

well there are plenty of plants that can go on rocks or driftwood. i think it looks great so far. driftwood i think would help. also think plants would look fine in there too as long as the fish dont rip them up.

i think it looks really good like it is right now. the only thing i would add is driftwood as already stated.

nice cories and nicaraguan cichlid driftwood is a good idea and if you can pick up some cheap plants that dont need a lot of maintenance (unless you feel like maintaining them )

Some large peices of wood , smooth river stone/ rocks , and plenty of hardy plants .

and alot more fish ( not sure which ones , sorry ) .
