I'm going to be doing some re-arranging. My 180 pred tank is getting split up due to size differences that are happening. I will be making my 180 a gar/poly tank. And switching one of the 125's to a SA/CA tank.

So far for the 125 I have one Pbass(prob. mono) and 2 Synspillum. That's it. Pbass ~10" the big syn is probably 8" and tall and fat, and the little syn is probably 5.5-6". They get along alright, a lot of displaying and chasing, but nothing hurtful.

I want to add some cichlids, I think that it may be better in the long run to spread aggression. We have some awesome baby texas cichlids at work. I'd have to fatten them up a little bit to keep the pbass from munching them, but could they live in the tank with them? And what about salvini, I admit I don't know a lot about these, they're gorgeous, and bite sized right now, so again they would need to be grown out a little bit. I do have an Xingu I pike that I am growing out right now for the tank. They'll also probably get a TSN that is about 9" but they're all too big for him to eat.

Are you talking long term home or just temperary? Long term I think you already have a good amount of fish if you add the pike. The bass is going to get 24inches and the Synspillum have some growing to do as well. The Xingu should work fine as long as it is large enough not to get eaten. Salvini's don't get large enough and will get eaten by the bass. The Texas could also work but it would need to be at least 6 inches to not get eaten. The problem you are going to have is that as you try to grow out cichlids for the tank the bass is going to continue to grow as well. You might be better off finding adults to add.

Well, the Pbass can go when he gets bigger, I have a tank for him with a catfish that is too big for him to live with right now. I guess I'm looking for long term sans pbass.

I guess I've made this more difficult that it should be.

I have a 125.

What should I put in from the following list...

1 Pbass
2 Synspillums
1 Xingu I pike
1 TSN
Up to 6 Texas
Up to 4 Salvini's
Up to 4 Geo. Brasiliensis

I just want a cichlid community tank. I'm tired of species only tanks. I have lots of tanks, so none of these have to be together. I am looking for input as to what should be together.

The geo brasiliensis are agrressive for a geo but for a cichlid not so. The Texas will harraas the geo's as they get older. IMO Salvinis might work with the Texas if they all grow up together. Definately get the Pbass out of there.
