what should i add?

so in about 8-9 months i will be getting a 180g and it will be running on a sump and i am moving every one from the 100g to it, but i want something else in the tank with them. I have thought about bichir, catfish, other cichlids or a flagtail but i don't know what to get, so i need ideas anything would be great. i don't want anything real common
the stock so far is going to be:
3 oscars (peaceful- they swim in a school)
1 green terror
2 f1 convicts
1 jack
1 acara (don't remember exactly what it is but it was from jeff rapps)
1 12" chocolate pleco.
What Should i get?
 
i'd go with some type of bichir, some have bad luck with them in cichlid tanks, but i've personally never had a problem, except with a red devil one time, but then again, he didn't get along with anyone at all, had to get rid of him at the time, and now i have another one in a solo tank. or maybe a larger breed syno.
 
thats what i thought too but first problem is my girlfriend hates eels and thinks the bichir look like them and the tank is going to be in our room. i mean if i want it i can get it but i will have to hear about it.lol. is there any cool cichlids that would be an odd ball look in the tank. I think the veija argentea and ex 'Cichlasoma' istlanum 'red' are stunning but i know they won't work cause of aggression
 
there's no way to really know for sure without trying, as you probably know with all you tanks, every fish is different, i've had a dovii that got along fine with oscars and gt's, main thing is, try to introduce all the fish to the tank at the same time so no one has time to set up his/her territory. or atleast re-arrange the tank when you introduce the new fish to kind of break things up a bit, always seemed to help for me. Main thing is pick a fish that you like and that you know your current fish will be ok with and just watch it close at first. my gf hates eels too, but she fell in love with my sen. bichir, says he's "cute".
 
ya i know lost a lot of fish while at work when a juvi acara decided he didn't like a lot of the fish in the 125g. I tried to tell her that and she was like no. i will consider that. anything else possible?
 
with the set-up you have now it's kind of tricky, already puching the limits of aggression, i have the same problems with my tanks, these are just fish i've thought about for my tanks, no matter what you choose it's gonna be a hit or miss kind of thing.
