What should I do about these scales?

my new red wolf fish hit the top glass yesterday and one of this got loose. The scale is still intacted but a bit of it is poking out in an ugly manner. What should I do about it? Leave it or do something about it? Any experience from any fish species in which scales got lose but won't fall of? Do the scales fall off themselves or do they just "stick on" overtime?

I ned your help and experience! I've already added salt.

Leave it alone. It will eventually fall off and a new one will grow.

Just leave it. It should fall off and regrow

It depends how far detached the scale is. If it is 90% attached then it will reattach if left undisturbed. If it is hanging by a thread more than likely it will fall off or the water movement will simply finalize the split.

Then your really just rolling the dice. That's borderline. It might heal or it might not. Best you can do is keep water movement and sharp tank decor to a minimum and leave it alone.
