What should I do? I messed up big!

Well yesterday I was cleaning one of my tanks and I knocked down the divider. On one side is my trimac and on the other my bonsai and blood parrot. When I finished cleaning I forgot to put it up because I was in a hurry because I was going to hang out with a friend. When I came home I found my trimac almost destroyed by my bonsai. Hes in pretty bad shape. Most of his body is covered in bite marks his fins are all torn, and he can't/doesn't want to move. Hes been floating around the tank since last night occasionally flapping his fins to stabilize himself. Should I put him down? I really likes this fish and incredibly pissed off at myself for what happened.

That was a pretty irresponsible move. I wouldnt put him down though.
Separate, salt, and give him time. He might recover, but it looks about dead already in that picture provided so I wouldnt get my hopes up. Good luck, Live and learn
 
Oh boy, from the condition in truth. It is a low chance that your fish is going to make it. But if it did, then all power to you and your fish. Well, as stated...bump the temp into the mid 80's and add some aquarium salt. I really dislike any chemical medication so I wouldn't advise anything with it. Hopefully it pulls through for you...

Where did you get it and where are the pics?




Side note, he didn't make it. Sucks because I loved its colors and it had a great personality.
