Hey all, I have a problem. I've raised my midas up from a 1 1/2" fry and am attached to him. My problem is that I can only put limited variety of fish with him. I recently purchased a male freddy(absolutely gorgeous), and put him in with my midas. He was fine for a few days. midas must have attacked him when the lights were off. Needless to say I had to remove him. I ended up putting freddy in with my silver aros and he seems to be healing up well. I tried to put midas in with my big jar (tried the freddy too) and that almost ended in disaster:WHOA:!!!!

My question is:A) Do I sell my midas? B) do I set up a tank just for him(with the stock I have-I don't have an extra tank big enough for him)?

I can't have an $8 fish killing a $100 fish :screwy:

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated,
Chris

beautiful Freddy Id get the midas his own tank especially if youre attached to him, no one will give you near what he is worth to you if you sell him just my two cents Mike

If you don't have a tank big enough to house the midas comfortably then you probably need to re-home him. It sounds like that is what is best for the fish.

Midas is in a 150g right now so he's comfortable but I've had to move fish around to relieve aggression. This caused a little over crowding in the other tanks.

Thank you,
Chris

Get him his own 90g if you can spare the space and cash. Check on the local classified ads and craigslist for a cheap one.

If you are attached to him then it is a no brainer IMO, keep him and set up his own tank.
