Going away for ten days... have oscars, plecs, barbs, catfish, and various others that will need to be fed everyday...

But.. no one will be free to feed them. So need some ideas. Quickly!

These fish are all over the 12" mark and will get upset if not fed for that long, it does not matter if they are well fed already.

Was thinking of throwing in about a bag of guppies in each tank before i go? But then they'd need to be quarantined, do not have time for that.

i just wouldn't feed them, they can handle it...did it in my 125 which had fullgrown cichlids when i was out of town

Do a big feeding before you leave, the fish will be fine for a week without food.

thanks guys i will just have to feed them twice a day until i have to go and include a massive wc. hopefully they will be ok by the time im back.

honestly, this is why i don't like to keep a regular feeding schedule. i don't want my fish to expect food at a certain time everyday. it's a lil rough to go 2 a day to nothing for a week but they're right....they'll survive.

p.s. everytime i see what should i do, it reminds me of the lebron james commercial...or cartman

They will be fine. Fish can live for a minimum of three weeks without food espicially adults. I read the galopagus (bad spelling) tortises can live 4 years without food. Cold blooded animals do not need food every day to survive.

I'm going through a similar situation. I normally hire my neighbor to feed my fish once a day while I'm gone, and turn on/off the lights every day.

I don't want to foul my brackish tank's water though, so those two will have to just go without until I get back.
