Hi, well Im setting up my 125 gallon freshwater native species tank. I plan on running a Fluval FX5 canister filter. Do I need an under gravel filter as well?

I currently have a Black Bullhead (4 inches), 2 Black Crappie (4.5 inches each), 3 Red Eye Coosa Bass (3 inches each), 1 Northern Longear Sunfish (4 inches), Rhino Pleco (9 inches), 3 Peppered Corydora's for cleaning (1.5 inches each). Right now everything is living happily in my 30 gallon tank, but it is getting too crowded so Im moving everything to my 125 gallon tank.

Thats a big filter, no need to complicate things with an UGF. If additional filtering is desired, why not use a HOB? There are smaller canisters as well that are priced right around what an UGF would cost that you could use as a secondary.

I would get another canister or hob. Natives are messy
