i have a 55 gal tank with a oscar pleco wolffish and a channel cat in it
would a fluval 204 or 304 be enough for it, also what do i need to hook up the fluval?

thanks

Personally I would add an emp 400 or and AC 110 :)

304 if that's your only choice.

Did you have your heart set on a canister?

For the price think about Tongue33's suggestions.

2 AC 110's would be enough on a 55gal. for anything you could keep in it. Low cost as well. Pointless to spend the extra money on canisters for a small tank when it's not needed IMO.

The 304 or pricematch and go as large as possible at petsmart or BigAl's. Also go with as much filtration as possible. You have a large bioload in that tank.

I run an emporer 400 on each of our 55gal utility tanks. You can pick up perminate cartrages for them on ebay that add bio capacity and have washable pads to cut down on maintaince costs.

Put in a w/d sump. They are easy and cheap to make and give you a ton of options. They also add to your water volume. That 55 would be a fantastic sump for a 75-80 gln and push your volume up or at least give you a true 80gln system. Once you have had a sump you will never go back.
