Got this female parrot in my local fls and the owner claims she's a Kingkong parrot. What do you guys think? She has a short body and a totally normal mouth. She can close her mouth and eats fine. Any idea?

Also, she has paired off with one of my big blood parrot in the main tank and laid eggs twice. But the male parrot can't fertilize the eggs. So I separate her into her own 30 gallon tank and got her a male convict but things didn't work out, the convict was just too aggressive. Yesterday I got her a 8 inches male red devil. The female parrot seems like the RD and dancing right in front of him, however, I checked today and the male RD seems have no interest in the parrot and bump and chase her away most of time. Not sure what else I can try. A smaller RD male? Or a young Creamsicle midas male? Or maybe a flowerhorn? Any suggestions? Is it possible to get any Kingkong parrot offspring from this female parrot? Any input would be highly appreciated! thanks!

It might hard to pair her with a Midas or Red Devil until she is larger. Typically if you are trying to pair an aggressive male then you need to use a divider to divide the fish, once both fish show signs of courting you could remove the divider and keep an eye on them. If things turn violent separate and try again at a later time. So you could divide the Red Devil and wait for him to show signs. Hard thing about breeding is it take patience which can be hard, I know I'm guilty of it.

She looks like a Blood Parrot to me but I know others who might say King Kong Parrot. I have a female BP similar shape to her.

Honestly I have no idea if they are or not.Just figured he wasn't interested in her.

Essentially all male Blood Parrots are sterile. I have yet to see a confirmed fertile male.

.

Thanks! Yes, mine looks exactly like yours. I remember people say "male RD or Midas X female BP will produce KKP"? Is that right? What's the difference between using a male RD and a male Midas? THanks!

KKP is a bit different that that. Most Red Devil/Midas you see at a local store is gonna be a mix of the two. Typically Midas are bulkier and have less a snout and Red Devil the opposite.
