I need a decent light that can help my plants grow in my 210. The tank dimensions are 84 x 24 x 24.

I want to get a light that is both ecconomical and effective to grow plants. But I know this is going to be difficult. :screwy: BTW I'm looking for a stand alone light. I don't plan on having a hood.

Ideas on sizes and brands???

You could use a slightly wide lighting fixture and pay a bit of money or use multiple globes that cover most of the tank. Depending on the plants you want to grow, you may need as much as 1 watt per gallon.

HO T5 are very good. I, indeed, did just put Hagan HOs on my 135. If you are not needing high lighting, I do have some used compact fluorescent lights for sale. They would easily grow many low-moderate light plants for you.

WyldFya, what do you have and how much, how long etc? Are they in good shape?

Also on the T5HO, looks like there are a few. Which one in that product line would you guys recommend? Where could I get the best price, how much would it be?
